Lace in Translation

Lace Futures, a dynamic, university-wide collaboration based on the exhibition, Lace in Translation, cultivated faculty and student engagement through semester-long design experimentation that explored the creative possibilities of lace.  Spearheaded by The Design Center, Lace Futures was developed by Professors Hy Zelkowitz, Industrial Design, and Marcia Weiss, Textile Design, to engage and inspire faculty and students in diverse disciplines to consider the topic within the scope of each discipline, amongst multiple disciplines, and as preparation to understand the conceptual underpinnings of the Lace in Translation exhibition.
