Kristi Kohut is a mixed-media artist who uses commercially produced materials used in traditional crafts such as felt and embroidery thread to explore themes of beauty in society today. She uses embroidery thread to explore the lines and "wrinkles" nature leaves behind: the wrinkles on our face, the lines engrained in marble, layers of rock, the twisted branches of a tree, the topography of the land, the grain in wood.
